17-20 Oct 2022 Bordeaux (France)

Practical details

Places:

The workshop will take place at
Paul Pascal Research Center (CRPP)
115 Avenue du Dr Albert Schweitzer
33600 Pessac
next to the "Montaigne-Montesquieu" stop of tram B,

except for the poster session on Tuesday afternoon at the
Laboratoire Ondes & Matière d'Aquitaine (LOMA)
next to the "Peixotto" stop of tram B.

We will go from CRPP to LOMA together.

Important: there is no reception desk in the CRPP and someone has to open the entrance door for all participants. In order to avoid delay, and to make sure there will be someone to open the door for you, may we ask you to please arrive in advance in the morning, at the latest at 8:50am.

Presentations:

All oral presentations are 25 min long, with 20 min of talk and 5 min of questions. Please use your own laptop for the presentation. To make sure it works well, it would be great if you could test your laptop before your presentation, e.g. during the coffee break. Also, just in case there is a technical issue between your laptop and the projection system, may we ask you to bring your presentation on a USB stick (pdf, keynote and/or power point format).

Posters will be presented on a wall, attached with scotch tape. The typical size is expected to be A0, vertically orientated, but no problem if it is smaller.

Worshop dinner:

The workshop dinner will be on
Tuesday evening (Oct. 18)
at
Le Restaurant M
53 Rue Lafaurie Monbadon
33 000 Bordeaux

https://www.restaurantlem.com/
next to the "Fondaudège - Muséum" stop of tram D
All participants who registered at the dinner are cordially invited to join.

If you are interested, we will go together from the hotel to the restaurant (15-min walk).

Hotel for invited speakers:

The workshop hotel is
ibis Bordeaux Centre Mériadeck
35 Cr Maréchal Juin
33000 Bordeaux
next to the "Palais de Justice" stop of bus 1.
Bus 1 is direct from the airport to the hotel.
Bus 1 is also direct from the train station (Gare St-Jean) to the hotel.

Transport:

All places (workshop, hotel, restaurant ...) are easily accessible by public transport, especially with tram B and bus 1. You can buy tickets at the ticket machines at the tram stops, and at the bus stops at the airport and train station. Otherwise, you can also buy them online on your smartphone in advance
https://www.infotbm.com/en/rates/m-ticket-tbm-witick-your-ticket-your-smartphone.html

I would a priori recommend to buy a 7-day pass (14,20 €) if you can, or alternatively a 10-trip ticket (13,70 €).

Important: the bus 1 from/to the airport does not run all night. The last bus departs at 00:20 (shortly after midnight) from the airport and the first bus arrives at 5:27am at the airport. You can find the schedule here :
https://www.infotbm.com/en/schedules/search?line=01

If your departure flight is very early in the morning, you might need to book a taxi. I would recommend to ask the hotel to book a taxi for you (Uber does not work so well so early).
